Lenovo Rolls out New IdeaPad Computers For Windows 8

Yesterday Lenovo rolled out several
and tablets at IFA 2012. Lenovo is back at it again today with the unveiling of several new IdeaPad notebook computers and new AIOs. The new computers include the U Series ultrabook, IdeaPad Y and Z series machines, and the IdeaCentre A and B Series AIO computers.
One of the more interesting machines in the U Series is the U510 ultrabook with a 15-inch screen. The machine is 21 mm thick and weighs less than 2.2 kg. It features an instant-on system that can resume from sleep and only one second. The machine uses various processors up to third-generation Intel Core i7 units and can be fitted with up to 1 TB of storage. A 32 GB SSD is optional and battery life promises up to six hours per charge. The machine can be had with DVD or Blu-ray drives.
The new Lenovo IdeaPad Y400 and Y500 machines are aimed at gamers and multimedia fans. Both machines feature the Lenovo UltraBay, which is an interchangeable bay that allows users to swap different components such as dual graphics, more storage, or additional fans for cooling. Each of the models can be equipped with different processors up to Core i7 offerings and NVIDIA GeForce GT 655M 2 GB dual graphics cards.
The machines can also be fitted with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage space. The difference between the two models the screen size with the 400 having a 14-inch screen and the 500 offering a 15.6-inch screen.
Lenovo's IdeaPad Z400 and Z500 notebooks are slim and powerful units. They can be had with multiple processors, including Core i7 offerings rather than low-voltage parts typically found ultraportable notebooks. The machines will come in a range of colors and have a soft-touch exterior. The difference between the two machines is screen size with 14-inch or 15.6-inch displays. Both machines use the latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics technologies and have intelligent touchpads.
Lenovo has also rolled out the IdeaCentre A520 AIO with a 23-inch frameless full HD resolution display. The machine supports 10-point multi-touch and can be fitted with Core i7 processors, Intel HD graphics 4000 and up to 8 GB of RAM. Storage is up to 1 TB. This machine starts at a price of $999.
Lenovo also has the B Series AIO desktop computers with the B340 and B345 offering a 21.5-inch screen and the B545 using a 23-inch screen. The larger screen machine also supports 3-D, and it includes two pairs of 3-D glasses. The machines are available with various Intel or AMD quad core processors and can be fitted with NVIDIA graphics or AMD Radeon graphics.
The IdeaPad U510 will ship in September with prices starting at $679. The IdeaPad Y400 and Y500 machines will ship in October starting at $649. The IdeaPad Z400 will land in November starting at $549 with the Z500 coming in September starting at the same $549. Lenovo's IdeaCentre A520 will launch in October starting at $999 with the B340 and B345 coming in October starting at $599. The B545 AIO won't be available until next April, with prices starting at $699.

Why look at things this early the game? They're not even released yet. If I didn't think new stuff is better (I kind of agree but I'm not rigid about it), if that was my philosophy, then I wouldn't bother looking at new stuff. If I was ready to replace something I have then I would look for something proven to replace it which excludes new.
