Not much is know about either device other than the fact that the mid-range Lumia 820 features a 4.3" screen, while the flagship Lumia 920 features 4.5" screen. As you can tell from the following images, both will likely be available in a number of colors to suit your design aesthetic.

Lets not get hasty. Some of the objects are shifted in those comparison shots and the 808 is substantially noisier/appears to interpolate lines often. I agree that it's pretty amazing for a cellphone camera, though. I've had people try and tell me that the iphone 4s/galaxy s3 have good cameras, but then they sit and run the images through a punch of app filters, which don't help at all. This thing is lightyears ahead of other cellphone cameras.

Like I said, I'm not suggesting that the 808 is better than a D800, but the mere fact that it is comparable (in at least some metrics) is astounding.
Don't forget that the D800 is using a pro grade lens stopped down to f/11, while the 808 is shooting at f/2.4 (non-adjustable aperture). To be able to capture more detail than the DSLR combination is staggering.
As to interpolation, almost every* commercial camera does that - it's a function of the Bayer color filter and anti-aliasing filter. The AA filter is probably what's holding the D800 back moreso than the lens or sensor. The 808 is doing a pretty good job here - color moire and jaggies are very well controlled.
I agree with you that a smaller 21MP unit would make more sense to the majority of the market. I'm definitely interested to see how it will perform. I do have some hope that the renders are not accurate and we will at least get a Xenon flash in the 920. Would I consider getting a (hypothetical) 21MP 920 over a 41 MP 808? Definitely... maybe.
* Exceptions that I know of would be the Leica M9 Monochrom and Sigma's Foveon-sensor cameras (SDx, DPx series). But these aren't without their own drawbacks and sacrifices, and are very niche products.

Another interesting camera is the lytro. Waiting on 2nd Gen before I buy one.
