MSI goes dual-core with the new S262 notebook computer

MSI has launched their new 4.3 pound S262 notebook which is based on Intel's new dual-core Napa archictecture. For a quick refresher, Napa based notebooks include a Core Duo processor, 945 Express chipset and an Intel 3945ABG wireless adapter.

The 12.1" WXGA notebook features Dolby Surround sound and can support up to 2GB of DDR-2 memory via two expansion slots. The notebook can also support hard drives up to 100GB in size. Other niceties include a dual-layer DVD burner, three USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire port and the notebook accept either 4-cell or 8-cell battey packs.

MSI's S262 compares quite favorably to the new W5F from Asus.  Both are smallish 12.1" notebooks based on the Napa platform. The W5F has the advantage of being slighly lighter with the standard battery pack and it also features a built-in 1.3MP digital camera. The W5F comes up short in memory capacity though as it only supports up to 1.5GB of memory. Both are available in white or black finishes

In the end it'll all come down to personal preference, but you can't go wrong with either of these great laptops.
