Free or discounted Wi-Fi access courtesy of Google Offers
Boingo Wireless is the leading provider of Wi-Fi hotspots around the country. The company has announced that Google Offers is expanding its sponsorship of Boingo Wi-Fi hotspots outside of the six New York subway stations and 200 Manhattan hotspots to 24 additional locations across the country. Google Offers sponsorship was previously only in the New York City area.
As of today, Google Offers is sponsoring free and discounted Wi-Fi hotspots in eight different malls and 16 different airports in major cities around the country. Cities with sponsored hotspots include Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC, and Seattle. The hotspots inside malls will allow shoppers to stay connected while they're shopping without exceeding data allotments.
Free Wi-Fi will be offered via Boingo Wi-Fi hotspots in malls located in cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Tampa. Specific airports that are getting discounted hotspots in the expanded Google Offers sponsorship include New York JFK and LaGuardia as well as Chicago O'Hare and Midway airports. Travelers going to Houston's Hobby and George Bush Intercontinental Airport will also have sponsored access. Travelers going through those airport locations will be able to get discounted access rather than free with 50% off a 24-hour access pass. That deal is limited to one per person.
Google Offers is sponsoring the Wi-Fi access inside six subway stations in New York and the 200 other hot zones in Manhattan through September 7. The duration of the nationwide hotspot sponsorship is unknown at this time.

Anyone Use Boingo?

Does anyone actually use Boingo service? Looks like a solid wi-fi solution and the membership cost seems reasonable but I'm guessing it's only cost-effective if you do a lot of traveling and need instant airport/hotel wi-fi since some airports offer free wi-fi and some don't.

I do have the service for 9.95 a month and I love it. I do a lot of travel and is great when you need the service at the airport. Also good for international travel is only $0.12 minute charge, if you need to do a quick check of your email.
