"Driving, murdering, stealing, oh my!"

Rockstar Games' highly anticipated sequel to the smash hit Grand Theft Auto: IV is shaping up nicely, although we still don’t have a definite release date for the game. But in the mean time, Rockstar is whetting the appetites of eager fans with three fresh in-game screenshots of Grand Theft Auto: V:

GTA3 was about the engine: Look at all this crazy stuff you can do!
Vice City was about filling out the content: Boats! Motorcycles! Helicopters! Airplanes! More weapons! Better AI!
San Andreas was about scope: Holy mother of God, it takes 15 minutes to drive from one corner of the map to the other, and that's driving like a freaking maniac.

So, if they follow the same formula, GTAV will include all the modes of transportation that were missing from IV while keeping the nicely polished engine they already developed. But it probably won't have the massive, almost over the top scale that was what made San Andreas so wonderfully addictive.

GTA4 wasn't exactly a tiny map once it was all unlocked. Granted it wasn't SA, but it could take you a while to go from corner to corner.

I just hope for improved AI. The cops were way too stupid in GTA4. They usually would mow down more pedestrians than me while in a car chase.
