ZOTAC's tiny computer has impressive graphics
ZOTAC has unveiled a new ZBOX mini with NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M graphics. The new and small computer could be the ideal home theater PC thanks to its high-definition video playback capability.
“We’re pleased to inject the power of NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics to our award-winning ZOTAC ZBOX for users that demand energy-efficiency with a graphics kick,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International. “The new ZOTAC ZBOX with NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520M graphics delivers phenomenal high-definition video playback capabilities to make it the perfect home theater PC as well.”
The new computer is available as a bare-bones machine or as a "Plus" model with the memory and hard drive installed. Neither version of the computer comes with Windows installed. The processor used in the computer is an Intel Atom 1.86 gigahertz dual-core unit. The version with memory and storage includes 2 GB of DDR 3 RAM and 320 GB of storage.
Both versions of machine have DVI and HDMI outputs and can support 2.5-inch HDD's. The machine has dual USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. Gigabit Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are all integrated. The machine is also, bundled with a MCE-compatible remote control with a USB IR receiver.
The ZBOX is priced at $229 for the barebones machine and $319 for the Plus.
