ZOTAC's tiny computer has impressive graphics

ZOTAC has unveiled a new ZBOX mini with NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M graphics. The new and small computer could be the ideal home theater PC thanks to its high-definition video playback capability.
 
“We’re pleased to inject the power of NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics to our award-winning ZOTAC ZBOX for users that demand energy-efficiency with a graphics kick,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International. “The new ZOTAC ZBOX with NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520M graphics delivers phenomenal high-definition video playback capabilities to make it the perfect home theater PC as well.”
 
The new computer is available as a bare-bones machine or as a "Plus" model with the memory and hard drive installed. Neither version of the computer comes with Windows installed. The processor used in the computer is an Intel Atom 1.86 gigahertz dual-core unit. The version with memory and storage includes 2 GB of DDR 3 RAM and 320 GB of storage.

 
Both versions of machine have DVI and HDMI outputs and can support 2.5-inch HDD's. The machine has dual USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. Gigabit Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are all integrated. The machine is also, bundled with a MCE-compatible remote control with a USB IR receiver.
 
The ZBOX is priced at $229 for the barebones machine and $319 for the Plus.

I could use this with an SSD for a nice carputer! Id be able to run all of my diagnostics in car. Ive been on the fence about building one, but this would make installing one easy! Hopefully the price is right.

How big are these diagnostic packages, and what OS do they run on? This type of application sounds like it would be best handled by a device like the Raspberry Pi, no?

SCT puts out a nice suite. The free basic one will upload all of the logging data from my tuner. If you get their tuning package, you can adjust your tune yourself and it has more tools. There's also race track data loggers that use GPS/accelerometers to help you see what your car is doing. I figured having a nice carputer would be better than having a laptop in the passenger seat with wires strewn all about. Some will run on XP, or any current flaver of Windows.

Almost forgot. Some of them wil let you do virtual gauges as well. You can input the signal via USB or OBDII/bluetooth adapters. granted you can do this on a handheld tuner, but Id also use the carputer for music, videos, etc.

nope, because there are a ton of obd2 type tools for windows machines which are really specialty. I don't know of any that will run on ARM at the moment.
Raspberry pi sounds like a lot of fun, but I don't think it would work well with what you need from it out of a carputer capable of anything more than basic media playback.

There are tons of underground media center type apps for carputers which require different gui thought processes, but not so much ARM.

Just get a Nexus 7 for $200 and you're done. Actually, cars should just put one of those instead of their archaic outdated nav systems.

seems like a kindle fire would be a better bang for the buck.
