Madfinger claims piracy is the reason for Android, but why iOS?
After making the game free for Android users, Madfinger Games recently announced that Dead Trigger will now be free for the iOS crowd as well.
Last month, mobile game developer Madfinger Games made its first-person shooter Dead Trigger free for Android users due to a high rate of piracy. But now, the developer is also making the game free for iOS, but many suspect piracy is not the issue.
Madfinger Games CEO Marek Rabas spoke about piracy, saying that Google and Apple are doing a poor job with piracy protection on their separate platforms. However, up until now, Madfinger has only openly criticized one of the OS', yet is now treating them the same.
It has been reported that Madfinger Games is not being entirely honest about why it's making the game free on iOS now (or maybe even Android too), but it looks like Madfinger is simply switching to a pure freemium type of system, since most of Dead Trigger's money comes from in-app purchases anyway.
