New Sony tablet looks interesting, but can it compete with the iPad
If you're a fan of Sony's Android tablets such as the Tablet S that launched a while back, you may be interested hear this. What appears to be a set of slides used for internal purposes at Sony has leaked online showing an unannounced tablet.
The tablet is billed as the Sony Xperia Tablet and is presumed to be the successor to the Tablet P. One of the slides shows that the new tablet is 8.8 mm thick at its thinnest point and 11.85 mm thick at its thickest point.
Those dimensions make it 42% thinner than its predecessor. The display of the new tablet is 9.4-inches, and it has a resolution of 1280x800. The operating system is said to be "at least" Android 4.0, though it would make sense for Sony to launch the tablet with
. The slides also show the tablet will be offered with 16 GB, 32 GB, or 64 GB of internal storage and there'll be a version of the tablet with 3G mobile broadband.
The tablet will have integrated Bluetooth 3.0, a SD card slot for storage expansion, and stereo speakers. The tablet has a 6000 mAh battery and uses NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor.
The slides also show an interesting accessory cover that acts as a stand and has an integrated keyboard. That integrated keyboard cover is reminiscent of what
Microsoft has included with its Surface tablet
One of the slides lists tentative pricing for the tablet and various accessories. According to the slide, the 16 GB tablet will sell for $449.99, the 32 GB version will sell for $549.99, and the 64 GB version will sell for $649.95. The docking stand with the integrated keyboard is listed at $99.99.

If I had to do it again I would still get my Asus Transformer Infinity again. It has better specs (screen resolution at least) and micro sd expansion for sure. I love this thing just as I loved my TF101 when it came out. Price is right on par with the market and competitive with other offerings. The keyboard dick is a bit more expensive but it gives you more battery life (not sucking it away), a full size sd card reader, a usb port, and you can actually use the keyboard as a stand (and is a cover). I'm honestly not sure why you would get a different tablet in the 10" space (if I wanted a 7" the Nexus 7 would be it hands down), they are all priced pretty much the same accept the Infinity has the best specs all the way around. Sony is already dead in the water with this new device and behind the game.
