The keyboard to stay powered for two years on a full charge, whether it's in sunlight or complete darkness
Logitech unveiled a new $130 iPad accessory that both protects and charges the tablet in one case.
The new case, called the Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio, is a thin case that not only aims to protect a user's iPad from front to back, but also offers a built-in Bluetooth keyboard.
What's unique about the case is that the Bluetooth keyboard is charged using onboard solar cells, which draw in indoor or outdoor sunlight. This charging method allows the keyboard to stay powered for two years on a full charge, whether it's in sunlight or complete darkness.
The Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio is capable of two different positions: one where the full keyboard is exposed for typing like a laptop, and another where the keyboard acts as a media playback function for controls like play, pause, volume, etc.
This isn't Logitech's first solar-powered gadget. Back in November 2010, the peripheral company released a wireless solar keyboard called the K750. The K750 runs on light power, and was shipped to the U.S. and Europe for $79.99.
