Max Payne gets the mobile treatment

Most people were pleasantly surprised at the mobile port of Grand Theft Auto III. Rockstar Games provided the full Grand Theft Auto experience to iOS and Android users complete with cut scenes and the iconic radio stations. Needless to say -- with the exception of tricky controls -- the game was a hit with mobile gamers.

Rockstar Games is hoping to accomplish the same feat with Max Payne Mobile. Once again, the full gaming experience will be unleashed on gamers and you'll be able to experience "bullet time" in all its mobile glory.

Users of iOS devices (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, and all generations of the iPad) will be able to download the game on April 12. A select number of Android devices (full device compatibility details haven't been released yet) will have access to the game on April 26.

I never played GTA III when it first came out, but I did download it for my iPhone 4S. I played the game, beat it, and enjoyed every minute. There were a few missions that irked the hell out of me because of the control scheme, but for the most part it was fine.

Can't wait to try Max Payne (another game I didn't play when it first came out).

Sorry for saying this, but you're doing it all wrong. Just get max payne for PC.
GTA III irked you in some missions and it wasn't even a pure shooter; max payne is.

He never specified which missions frustrated him. If I were to guess, I'd imagine they were missions with a lot of driving and time constraints, and not shooting missions.

Actually, it was the shooting. Driving was always perfects for me.

I can remember an earlier mission where some dude had to plant explosives on a cargo ship and I had to use the sniper rifle to kill bad guys while keeping my him from getting killed. That took me forever -- panning, zooming in, panning again, zooming in, trying to make precise shots.

There were a few others, but again it was always aiming that was the problem.
