The hype around him was that he was the first guy to make a real professional living out of gaming (One should note though... all the games he played didnt have recoil on the guns... so he played like quake3 and painkiller and not counter strike). He didnt go to college and stayed at home living with his dad after high school and played video games for 8-12 hours a day. Then when he won a tournament for 250,000 he bought his dad's house and went to devry or something and started working on getting a degree in like game design or something.
Then with all his retarded endorsements slapping his logo feces on half the crap in the gaming market he made even more money. Now you dont hear about him because hes raking in millions because retards see his name on something and go buy it because "oh look a pro gamer has his name on this it must be good!"
As an example when he first signed with creative and slapped his name on a sound card the thing cost 50 bucks more. And people bought it. Then there's his headsets and keyboards and so on. Now they have this stupid ass power supply coming out that will cost more than the same version without his name on it and retards will buy it because it'll be "gamer quality".

Instead of anonymously bagging on someone who's ~50x more successful than you'll ever be, how about you go do something useful with your life instead of being a b**** on an interwebs discussion board?
Just a suggestion mind you, you can always choose to just carry on the way you are.
