New Samsung tablet ships starting in March

If you are in the market for a new tablet and you don't want anything with the Apple logo on it, Samsung has a new tablet you might want to check out. The tablet is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 it runs Android 4.0. The tablet has a 1 GHz dual core processor and a 7-inch WSVGA screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600. The screen uses PLS TFT LCD technology and it has a VGA resolution camera on the front.

Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, micro-SD card slot, and a 4000 mAh battery. The tablet can be had in 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB storage capacities. The tablet is very portable with a 10.5 mm thick profile and uses Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. That special user interface is a sore point for some Samsung users; it tends to hold up Android updates.

The tablet will launch first in the UK starting in March and there'll be Wi-Fi only in Wi-Fi plus 3G versions. It looks like pricing ranges in Scandinavian countries from the equivalent of US$420-US$463 for the Wi-Fi only tablet and US$523-US$568 for the 3G version. Pricing for the new tablet in the UK has not been announced.
