It worked -- overnight HTC became a household name among U.S. smartphone users, and handsets like HTC EVO 4G defined the cutting edge. But since catapulting from obscurity to superstardom, the member of Android's "Big Three" has stumbled.

I agree quicksilvr I don't think the problem is marketing I think the problem is a pesky company that does not know how to share the market named after a fruit relentlessly suing people over false claims that they really came up with something. This company may be good at implementation, and design, but coming up with things first, well that is best stated by there late great CEO who said the greatest artist's (referring to himself and his own company) steal. No disrespect as he was brilliant and in his own period, but he was also as is his company a very sore looser. The companies smart phones media pundits now post big amazing write ups about how they beat 1 (Samsung currently) out of many manufacturers of smart phones for one quarter of a year as if that makes them great or something.

By the way, HTC pays Microsoft about $15 per Android phone sold.

Apple's silly lawsuits haven't stopped the sale of a single phone.
HTC's main problem is Samsung.
