Board is aimed at DIY home theater PC builders

ZOTAC has unveiled a new mainboard at CES 2012 that is small and energy efficient. The new board is called the D2700-ITX WiFi Supreme and is based on the small mini-ITX platform and is aimed at the home theater PC builder that likes to “roll his or her own”.

The mainboard has an Intel Atom D2700 processor onboard running at 2.13GHz. The GPU is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 250 and that gives the board the ability to have hardware accelerated Blu-ray 3D playback. The board has a HDMI 1.4a output as well for hooking to your 3D display. The Atom processor the board uses is one of the Cedar Trail parts and has dual-cores and supports HyperThreading.

“ZOTAC platforms have been quite popular among home theater PC users. “The ZOTAC D2700-ITX WiFi Supreme succeeds our award-winning IONITX series with upgrades to smoothly playback stereoscopic 3D content, output lossless audio formats and embrace Microsoft DirectX 11 technology while maintaining the compact mini-ITX form factor,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International.

The little board also has a pair of DDR3-1066 RAM slots that support up 4GB of RAM. Connectivity includes HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort. The board also has dual USB 3.0 port, a combo mini-PCIe/mSATA slot used by the Wi-Fi module, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The chipset on the board is the Intel NM10. Pricing and availability are unknown.

ZOTAC yesterday announced a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter.
