Mushkin shows off three new SSD products at CES
Mushkin is best known for its memory products, but the company also produces SSD products for businesses and end-users. The company was showing off three new SSD products that will launch within the coming months (all of which use the Sandforce SF-2281 controller).
The first is the Chronos GO 1.8" SSD that is available in Standard and Deluxe versions. Both versions offer sequential read speeds of 560MB/s, sequential write speeds of 525MB/sec and has random write IOPS of up to 90K. The Chronos GO will be available during the first quarter of this year in capacities up to 480GB.

Next up is the Atlas mSATA SSD, also available in Standard and Deluxe versions. Reads, writes, and IOPS carry over from the Chronos unchanged. However, the Deluxe model see its sequential write speeds bumped up to 535MB/s. The Atlas will also be available in Q1 in capacities up to 240GB.

The most interesting of the trio, however, is the Scorpion PCIe card. The Scorpion features a modular design that allows you to plug in up to four SSDs. The representatives for Mushkin say this will allow them to offer the card with, take for example, two bays filled at a lower price point. If a customer later wants to spend the extra cash to load the Scorpion with additional SSD capacity, they can purchase more modules and install them directly.
The Scorpion supports multiple RAID configurations including RAID 0/1/5/10/0+1/1+0. When it comes to performance, sequential writes are pegged at 1275MB/s while sequential writes clock in at 1500MB/s. Random write IOPS are listed at 120K. The Scorpion will launch sometime in the first half of this year.
