Lexus once again goes "Predator" with the LF-LC Concept

Lexus has long been known for quality, reliability, and tomb-like interior quietness. What the company hasn't always been known for, however, is bold styling. The company definitely amped things up a bit with the LFA supercar, but the adventurous styling is starting to filter slowly down the ranks to "lesser" Lexus models.
Lexus today officially pulled the wraps off the LF-LC Hybrid Sport Coupe Concept that will preview the likely replacement for the discontinued Lexus SC430. The stylish four-seater has a face that only a mother could love (and that mother would have to be a relative of the Predator), but the rest is quite breathtaking.

Unfortunately, Lexus spends most of its time in the press releases waxing poetic about the design of the vehicle instead of giving us the gritty details on the advanced hybrid powertrain. All that we do know is that the vehicle will be front-engine, with rear-wheel drive. We're guessing that production version will be available with the Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive found in the Lexus GS 450h, which is good for 338hp by combining a 3.5-liter V6 with a water-cooled permanent magnet electric motor.
But seeing as how 338hp is mere peanuts in today's luxury horsepower wars, we wouldn't be too surprised to see a V8 hybrid offering for those craving a bit more performance (while at the same time keeping fuel efficiency in check).

“Our entire studio worked to develop this beautiful interpretation of Lexus originality,” said Kevin Hunter, president of Calty. “The LF-LC concept embodies our vision of what a premium sport coupe could be.”
“This thought-provoking design exercise is a stunning expression of creativity,” said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “Combined with a next-generation hybrid powertrain, this concept promises a rewarding driving experience that is also kinder to the environment.”

Let's just hope that the production model isn't too watered down (although we highly suggest you they do something with that grille).
