HP Unveils New PCs and Displays Ahead of CES 2012

HP shows off largest screen AIO it has ever offered
HP will be showing some new systems at CES 2012 as well and it has unveiled the new machines ahead of the show.
The company pulled the wraps off several new devices including a new AIO computer and some new displays. The AIO s called the HP Omni27 PC and features a 27-inch display. The display screen has an edge-to-edge glass panel and can tilt up to 25-degrees for comfort sitting or standing.
The machine is fitted with HP Magic Canvas Software that allows the use of the display horizontally for photos, video and more. There are a number of options with the machine with various multi-core processors, HD graphics, and up to 2TB of storage. The machine also has Beats Audio, HDMI input, and can be fitted with an optional Blu-ray player.
The Omni27 starts at $1,199.99.
HP also has a new Pavilion HPE Phoenix h9 PC that will launch January 8 in the U.S. starting at $1,149.99. That desktop is the most powerful Pavilion PC yet and is focused on gaming and content creation. The machine has plenty of options and can hold up to 16GB of RAM, three internal storage drives, and high-end graphics cards up to 250W.
HP is also showing off the HP Compaq L2311c 23-inch Notebook Docking Monitor. The display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a pixel pitch of 0.265mm. The brightness is rated at 250cd/m2 and it has a 1000:1 static contrast ratio. The viewing angles are 170-degrees horizontal and 160-degrees vertical. The display also rocks integrated Ethernet, 4-port USB hub, and an integrated 720p HD webcam and dual mics. The big feature is a single USB 3.0 port will connect your notebook to the display.
The display will sell for $319 and will launch in February.

Right now, white CCFLs have better color rendition than white LEDs. Since most of the buyers of these premium large displays are graphics artists and photographers, they're going to continue to be CCFL.
You can get better color rendition by using separate red, green, and blue LEDs. But I've only heard of a Dell laptop which did that, and is no longer in production.

There also is the HP Dreamcolor line of screens that do that as well. I believe they are both on laptops and desktops. (Talking about the RGBLED)
Having the Dell with that 16" RGBLED screen, I can tell you one thing is for sure. I've yet to find a screen with more gorgeous colors. Samsung's SAMOLED screens on their phones don't even compare.
