Customers can avoid the fee if they setup AutoPay or use ACH payments
If it isn't the banks trying to nickel and dime consumers, there's always some other industry that’s willing to step up to plate and milk customers for a few extra dollars every month. Today, we learn that the largest wireless carrier in the United States,
, is going to start implementing a $2 convenience fee on payments made over the phone and even online.
Customers who pay by electronic check (ACH) and those that enroll in AutoPay using any payment method won't have to worry about the fee. However, if you are one of the old school folks that like to pay by phone or if you for some reason like paying your bills online every month without the use of AutoPay, be prepared to fork over some extra cash.

Here's my solution to the ridiculous fees and data caps on wireless phones:
1. buy cheap rechargeable minute cell phone for emergencies, texting, etc.
2. get a magic jack II (plug into wall, plug in Ethernet cable, no computer needed, about $29 a year)
3. plug in cordless phone.
4. buy a Kindle Fire or other tablet rather than using an expensive smartphone with a tiny screen. Connect it with WiFi to your network.
5. Save $$$ !
