Maybe he is getting at the fact that they are buying up all the spectrum. When them and AT&T own majority shares of it they will be able to finally complete their duopoly.

ding ding ding! CORRECT

Does not matter they are not buying comcast/TW/etc... they are buying ALL their wireless spectrum. There will be no chance of competition and it also removes the ability for others to use/buy that spectrum and compete.

You say this as though the industry is in a state where a one could enter the market without investing billions upon billions of dollars to even use said spectrum.

I can't even imagine the pricetag that must be associated with all the new infrastructure that will be required to expand their LTE network into these new areas.

I even have my doubts there were even any other suitable buyers, as they could have probably turned a bigger profit had they split it up into more pieces.

Not saying you are incorrect, in theory it would stifle competition, I just don't think said competition exists, or anyone wants to enter a market that is essentially propped up by the government by essentially allowing them to run virtual monopolies in their respective markets.
