Commercial shows Apple fans camped out for the iPhone 4S, marveling at the Samsung Galaxy S II

The past year's events have made it pretty clear that Apple and Samsung aren't the best of friends. Apple initially accused Samsung of copying Apple's iPhone and iPad designs when developing the Galaxy line, and a long list of lawsuits have been launched back and forth ever since around the globe.

Apple may have successfully killed Samsung's sales in some countries outside the U.S., but Samsung isn't going to take this lying down. In its latest commercial for the Galaxy S ll, Samsung makes fun of Apple fanboys by portraying a scene where they're all waiting in line hours in advance for the next release. While waiting, the fanboys are noticing passerby with phones that are "magnificent," and of course the phones in question are Galaxy S ll's.

The fanboys make pompous comments while waiting in line, such as "If it looks the same, how will people know I upgraded?" and an exchange between two fanboys that goes as follows:

Fanboy 1: I could never get a Samsung, I'm creative.

Fanboy 2: Dude you're a barista.

Check it out for youselves:

Looks like 'lock down' is coming to Android tablets courtesy of Amazon - phones to follow?

It’s similar to Apple’s App Store lockdown on iOS devices: the Amazon Appstore is the only game in town on this probably-soon-to-be-very-popular Android device
As usual, you leave the important shit out...

key words : the Amazon Appstore is the only game in town on this probably-soon-to-be-very-popular Android device

Why you think Amazon is going to have ANY influence on NON-Amazon items is beyond me but I guess in your Apple mushed brain anything is possible.

And the even more important...

Through seriosly doubt the android market would ever replace the google market as the default app store in fact I would say it's far more likely that at some point amazon will allow the google market to be installed easily on the fire

Figures, he always post some shit from someone who has ties to Apple somehow. I guess Tony can't make up his own mind so he has to post shit from everyone else.

Amazon forked the Android operating system and will be installing Amazon-Android on their tablet.

Although they do not have other Android App Stores featured, they do not lock out foreign apps the way that Apple does. Rather they do it the way Nokia does. If you use only the icons, you are restricted to the registered app store. If you are able to find and manually install apps, then many more sources become available. This means Apple style security for those who are not tech savvy and Android openness for those who take the time to learn how to do it.

Like Unix and it's clones or the J2ME feature phones, Android comes in multiple variations that are mostly compatible and it is up to the owner of that phone to locate the apps compatible with their version of Android.

Yes it is a little more effort to maintain, but you, the enduser, get to choose which OS, (iOS, WinMo, WP7, Android-variant) works best for you.

For me a J2ME feature phone has the apps I need. so I will pass on the Apple tax of higher price on the handset & phone plans.

Pricewise and featurewise I am still looking at the Nook tablet (also a non-standard Android with it's own proprietary app store)

The only reason Amazon can and will do this is cause they have their own app store, their own video distribution store, their own music store. No other phone maker has this so none of them can do it they all rely on Google Market so no, lock downs like this will be for very very few devices and only from companies who have the resources to have all these stores by themselves.

I take it you missed all the news that although Amazon will provide the only official app store for their devices, there is still nothing stopping anyone using their device from installing any manually downloaded android app.. Let alone, android market could still probaly ported with very little effort.
