Gee. A less biased observer might consider a slightly different parallel.
They might, for example, note that one of the companies Rambus sued was, you guessed it, Samsung. And Samsung's defense was, you guessed it a variant of "If you're going to put your IP into a spec, you have the obligation to then impose FRAND terms on all would-be-licensors".

Relevance to matters happening today is left to the reader...
