The Apple Store application now offers three new features, including personal pickup, EasyPay and tracking

Last week, rumors started circulating that Apple was planning to release a retail store iOS app that would allow Apple shoppers to check themselves out via the app while visiting the company's retail stores. Now, these rumors have come to fruition via an update to its Apple Store application.

The Apple Store application now offers three new features, including personal pickup, EasyPay and tracking.

The personal pickup option in the app allows shoppers to make an Apple purchase within the app and choose to pick it up at any Apple Retail Store. According to iTunes, most in-stock orders are available as soon as one hour.

EasyPay allows Apple shoppers to use their iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S' camera to scan the barcodes of items on the shelves and purchase them using an Apple ID/iTunes account. This particular feature aims to make shopping quick and easy without the need of a salesperson. This feature currently requires the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S.

The tracking feature is exactly what it suggests: a tracker for the items you've purchased past and present.

The in-store pickup program, which allows customers to have online purchases shipped to a nearby Apple Retail Store instead of their home or office, launched in California in late October and has now expanded to the rest of the U.S. Apple Retail Stores. Customers can also pick up an online purchase that is available in-store in a matter of minutes.

The Apple Store app is free and available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It can be found here.
