Barnes & Noble will offer in-store demonstrations of the Nook Tablet on November 15
There has been a lot of tablet-related talk going on these days with Amazon's new tablet, Kindle Fire, due to hit the market November 15. But it looks like the Kindle Fire has an

, which managed to get its hands on some important documents, Barnes & Noble will launch its first Nook Tablet on November 16.
The Nook Tablet is almost exactly like the Nook Color with a few changes. According to the documents, the Nook Tablet will have a 7-inch VividView IPS color touchpanel with 1024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 1.2GHz dual-core OMAP 4 processor, 16GB of inbuilt storage, about eight hours of battery life with the Wi-Fi off, a microSD expansion slot, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, support for plenty of file formats (PDF, ePUB, XLS, DOC, PPT, TXT, DOCM, Flash, JPG, MP3, MP4 and AAC), and dimensions of 8.1- x 5- x 0.48-inches.
The cost for the new Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet will be $249, which is $50 more than the
. However, the Nook Tablet does have twice the RAM, twice the storage, and access to over two million books, newspapers and magazines. Kindle Fire has "thousands" of books, newspapers and magazines.
Barnes & Noble will offer the Nook Tablet for pre-order on November 7, and in-store demonstrations will take place on November 15.

This Is Bull!*$#! What about a Software Update to the Nook Color?
11/4/2011 1:36:59 PM
The Nook Color is useless as an e-Reader. The iPad, which is a do-everything tablet, is a better e-reader than the NC. I had to mod the damn thing with Cyanogenmod and download the Nook App from Android Market in order to get better performance.
Yes, you heard me right: I had to fucking jailbreak the damn thing and download the Nook app which performed better than the native Nook OS!!! It's obviously a software issue and not a hardware issue. If the NC doesn't get a software update to fix the reader performance, then I'm putting it out of it's misery. It's a shame too, since it's such a beautiful and well-crafted device hardware-wise.

You think the iPad is a better eReader? You odn't actually read then. The Nook Color is the best overall eReader device ever made. For text only nothing beats e-ink but if you want to read magazines or Calvin and Hobbes, e-ink doesn't work.
1) The iPad has a useless reflective screen, the Nook Color has the least reflective LCD screen of ANY tablet device and is by far the best for reading.
2) The Nook color is the size and weight and shape of a book. Ever held the iPad for hours to read something?
3) The iPad screen is very low resolution - I hate blocky pixelated text in my books. The Nook Color screen is way sharper.
4) The nook color fits in my jacket pocket. Like a book. The iPAd requires a backpack.
