It wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Apple to use the AppleTV as a full blown gaming console.

iOS developers are already creating games, and with iOS going on a TV, Apple could do an end-run around Sony and Nintendo.

Apple is smart enough to target rabid, fiercely loyal consumers (MY music represents who I am ---> iTunes). They know gamers are even more spendy and once gamers start with a franchise, there's no stopping the profit train.

Yup, really good example of what devs have just started doing with it: http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/07/real-racing-2-s...

Personally, I'm not interested in an Apple LCD since I prefer plasmas and love my Pioneer Elite Kuro. Still waiting on an updated AppleTV with an A5 or A6 before I make the jump into that area. Until then I'm happy using my PS3 or XBox for Netflix/Hulu/streaming over the network.

Why do you prefer Plasmas? I have heard they are better but never really looked into it.
