Official unveils of Asus Transformer Prime to happen next month
With the release of Ice Cream Sandwich and fresh new processing/graphics core, there is bound to be tidal wave of new Android-based tablets this holiday season. One of those new high-end devices is the followup to the ASUS Transformer: the ASUS Transformer Prime.
ASUS CEO Jerry Shin has shown the tablet off at the AsiaD conference and a formal unveil with more details will reportedly come next month. GottaBeMobile reports that the Transformer Prime has a 10-inch screen and a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor.
Like its predecessor, the the Transformer Prime will be available with a laptop dock to make the tablet into a notebook with track pad and a keyboard. The tablet is said to be 8.33mm thick and will sport a mini HDMI port, USB ports, and a SD card reader for full size cards.
Shin also hinted that the ASUS line of netbooks would get a redesign to look like the Transformer Prime.
There is no indication of the pricing or availability on the Transformer Prime.
