Motorola Droid RAZR
Motorola announces its 7.1mm thick Droid RAZR

We got a nice sneak peak at the Droid RAZR yesterday afternoon, but Motorola officially pulled the wraps off its latest smartphone today.

The Droid RAZR is 7.1mm thick and features Gorilla Glass for its touchscreen (like just about every other smartphone on the market). Where the Droid RAZR shakes things up a bit is with its KEVLAR body that makes it less susceptible to damage when dropped.

Motorola's latest and greatest has the following specs:
  • Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video capture and image stabilization
  • Front-facing HD camera
  • 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot
  • Bluetooth 4.0 low energy
  • 32 GB memory: 16 GB on board and 16 GB microSD card pre-installed
  • 1780 mAh battery
“DROID RAZR by Motorola is a testament to the innovation and design possibilities that stem from a strong partnership between Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless,” said Sanjay Jha, Chairman and CEO, Motorola Mobility. “We set out to design the best smartphone on the planet and delivered DROID RAZR which is thinner, smarter, stronger than any device on the market.”

The Droid RAZR will be available in early November for $299 with a two-year contract.

Sounds like you've never touched a device with Mango on it. It puts android to shame.

No, that's just due to a lack of marketing and no hardware that stands out as "the thing" to get. Android had the Droid to really boost its popularity, and it was marketed well. Even my parents asked me if I had heard of it when the commercials first aired, stating it looked cool. I have yet to see a commercial for WP7 (or even a handset), let alone one that stood out. I blame poor brand awareness.

Calm down it was a joke... you're correct I've never touched a device with Mango on it. However, I'm also certain it doesn't "put android to shame". I have done a bit of reading on it, and nothing I've seen about WinPho7.5 jumps out and makes me say "I've got to have that!".
