Motorola Droid RAZR
Motorola announces its 7.1mm thick Droid RAZR

We got a nice sneak peak at the Droid RAZR yesterday afternoon, but Motorola officially pulled the wraps off its latest smartphone today.
The Droid RAZR is 7.1mm thick and features Gorilla Glass for its touchscreen (like just about every other smartphone on the market). Where the Droid RAZR shakes things up a bit is with its KEVLAR body that makes it less susceptible to damage when dropped.
Motorola's latest and greatest has the following specs:
  • Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video capture and image stabilization
  • Front-facing HD camera
  • 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot
  • Bluetooth 4.0 low energy
  • 32 GB memory: 16 GB on board and 16 GB microSD card pre-installed
  • 1780 mAh battery
“DROID RAZR by Motorola is a testament to the innovation and design possibilities that stem from a strong partnership between Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless,” said Sanjay Jha, Chairman and CEO, Motorola Mobility. “We set out to design the best smartphone on the planet and delivered DROID RAZR which is thinner, smarter, stronger than any device on the market.”

The Droid RAZR will be available in early November for $299 with a two-year contract.

So, you can talk on your thinnest phone for 1 hour before you see a big honking sign (Please Charge)

Motorola phones never had good batteries.

Any model is always a compromise of features and technical ability. There isn't a perfect phone.

Claims about the best in this or that should be ignored (marketing shenanigans).

The best phone is the one that best suits your needs, reliable, with the best support where you live (it's not the same everywhere)

Have you ever read any of the moto reviews on Anandtech? They are praised for their excellent talk time. What exactly are you referring to again?

Yup... 4g is a hog, but its not doing anything unless you are on the internet downloading. It looks like a great phone.

"So, you can talk on your thinnest phone for 1 hour before you see a big honking sign (Please Charge)"

You are a complete idiot. The Motorola Droid Bionic gets 12.17 hours of talk time compared to the iPhone4's 7.43 in the latest Anandtech Bionic review. That's with a 1730mah battery. The RAZR has an 1800mah battery and will surely get even better talk time duration. Simply put, Motorola's talk time battery life is superior to the competition.

I still think this phone is going to be a loser because it will be tainted with Verizon bloatware and it's lacking the new ICS, but what you are saying comes straight out of your ass.

I'll tell you what, I can go back to when I owned a Startac. That had an excellent battery and was almost 15 years ago.
