The five people arrested were part of an organized gang that purchased the components needed to build the fake iPhones from Guangdong, China, then built them in Shanghai apartments and sold them in
According to Chinese police in Shanghai, approximately 200 fake iPhones were discovered during the arrests. The fake versions had all of the same functions as a real iPhone with the exception of a shorter battery life.
"It's really hard for customers to distinguish the
