were discovered in Kunming, China and two stores in New York were found

According to Chinese police in Shanghai, approximately 200 fake iPhones were discovered during the arrests. The fake versions had all of the same functions as a real iPhone with the exception of a shorter battery life.
"It's really hard for customers to distinguish the

It will be pretty much the same as most of the smartphones that China produces. Expect to find a CPU from the likes of Mediatek or Rockchip. Not exactly hard to find :D

Also, while the article claims that the fake ones has the same functions as the real one, I highly doubt so. Looking at the comparison picture, you can see the fake one has a smaller screen, and also the fonts of the date is different. I myself have in fact handled a fake one (although likely a different model from the one in the picture), and the homescreen is impressively faked. Once you go deeper in the functions though, the whole facade falls apart.

Except if someone has never used an iPhone would they be able to tell it is a fake...probably not.
