Odd looking EV seats two
A very
odd-looking car was spied in Berlin this week. The tiny car was wearing wild
camouflage that new models are often seen in to hide their dimensions from spy photographers.
The vehicle in this instance was a peculiar, very small car wearing the linked
rings of the Audi brand on the grill. Audi has since confirmed that the
camouflaged car that was seen in Berlin was actually the e-tron city concept car.
This e-tron city car isn't to be confused with the much larger, and more likely
to hit the roads, e-tron A3 car from April. This little city
car is dubbed an "urban concept" according to Audi. The car looks to
have just one seat based on the photos, but it will actually hold two people.
The passenger sits to the right and a bit behind the driver for more shoulder
room. The narrow tires will help reduce rolling resistance and presumably
increase the driving range.
The fully electric car produces no emissions and will officially debut at the
2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.
The e-tron city is expected to be the smallest in the Audi eco range sporting
EV, gas, and diesel models. There should be more information on the vehicle
when the Frankfurt Auto Show kicks off in September.
"We are going to continue to work with them to make sure they understand the reality of the Internet. A lot of these people don't have Ph.Ds, and they don't have a degree in computer science." -- RIM co-CEO Michael Lazaridis
