Foy created his own commercial and put it online

If you are a fan of Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 smartphone OS and have wondered why the Microsoft media campaigns weren't going all out to show the features of the phone, you aren't alone. Many people have felt that Microsoft could have done a better job marketing WP7 and that perhaps the lack of quality marketing is one of the reasons the phones haven't sold in significant numbers.

One Microsoft fan by the name of Brandon Foy took it upon himself to make a commercial to show off the features of Windows Phone 7. Needless to say, the commercial was very well received by fans of WP7. The commercial did so well that Microsoft promised to use the video Foy produced in some marketing campaigns if it hit 200,000 views on YouTube.

That mark was never reached with the video at fewer than 110,000 viewers as of now.

However, the silver lining for Foy was that he grabbed enough attention for himself with the video that Microsoft hired him as a UX Designer. Foy is a graphic designer by trade. Foy tweeted the news writing, "Awesome day! Huge thanks to everyone who supported my #WP7 videos. Today was my first day as a UX Designer for #MSFT!=D."

I agree Its about the phone not about ignoring a hot girl.

I think the best commercials that were ever out for the iPhone came from AT&T demonstrating what you can do. If Microsoft showed you what you can do in the commercial then people would get the phone more. Those who already have the phone understand why Windows Phone 7 is so great. Where is the mentioning of Microsoft Office in the Windows Phone come on Microsoft its the number one thing iPhone/iPad people request in business they wish they had.

Whomever is behind the advertising at Microsoft needs to be fired! Instead they put the same people who failed at getting Zune out there in charge of marketing the Phone? These people at Microsoft just don't get it hopefully he can get it through their heads. And for the love of god Microsoft defend your product when being bashed its as good and better than others out there dont take in the rear and walk away from the fight.
