The average mobile gamer plays approximately 7.8 hours per month
Mobile apps have changed the way we use our phones entirely, giving us more professional and entertainment-related options on the run. With popular apps like Angry Birds rising in popularity, it's no surprise that mobile gaming is the most popular category among all app types in the U.S.
According to Nielsen research, 93 percent of those who have downloaded an app within the last 30 days are willing to pay for mobile games. Also, iPhone, Windows 7 or Android users who have played mobile games in the last 30 days most likely downloaded games, while Blackberry and featurephone users are more likely to play pre-loaded games.
While the average mobile gamer plays approximately 7.8 hours per month, iPhone users play the most at an average of 14.7 hours per month. Android users play about 9.3 hours per month.
With 93 percent of mobile users willing to pay for games, only 76 percent of users who have downloaded an app within the last 30 days are willing to pay for news apps.
