HTC EVO 3D

HTC EVO View 4G
HTC EVO 3D and HTC EVO View 4G to launch June 24

Sprint today officially announced the next devices in its popular HTC EVO lineup: the EVO 3D smartphone and the EVO View 4G tablet.

We got an early look at both devices from HTC back in March, and not much has changed since then. The EVO 3D is still being touted as America's first "glasses-free" 3D smartphone, while the View 4G is being labeled "the first 4G tablet" on the market.

Both devices are set to launch June 24 exclusively from Sprint. The EVO 3D will run $199.99 with a qualifying two-year contract, and the View 4G will run $399.99. They can be pre-ordered at any Sprint store with the purchase of a $50 gift card.

Here's a quick spec recap:

HTC EVO 3D
Powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC's Sense UI. In addition to the 720p 3D HD video camera, it includes a 1.3-inch megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, WiMAX capability, DLNA support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, stereo Bluetooth, and a 1730 mAh Lithium-ion battery.

Dimensions: 5.0" x 2.6" x .48" (LxWxT)
Weight: 6 ounces
Main display: 4.3-inch 3D QHD capacitive display (960 x 540)
Memory: 4GB Internal memory/1GB RAM; Expandable memory: 8GB microSD card included; supports up to 32GB.

HTC EVO View 4G
Boasts a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 touchscreen, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel main camera with HD-video capability, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing one for video chat, and the latest version of HTC's Sense UI on top of Android Gingerbread (which will be updated to Honeycomb in the near future). It also includes 32GB internal memory, 1GB RAM, a microSD slot, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 4000 mAh Lithium-ion battery.

For a limited time, customers will receive the HTC Scribe pen (a $79.99 value) for free with purchase of the View tablet.

I just got the Evo 4G yesterday after having and iPhone 3G for 2+ years. I always wait a bit for the prices on smart phones to come down before buying....

The recent price drop at Sprint to $149 for the Evo, along with the $125 credit they gave me for switching to them and the $75 they paid me to turn in my iPhone made this phone more than free and is a welcome improvement over my old iPhone (and from what I've read-- even the iPhone 4). I'm quite happy with the plans Sprint has as well. They are the only of the big three to even offer unlimited data anymore.
