New iPhone will reportedly feature aluminum casing and redesigned antenna
Lump this one squarely in the rumor column: The upcoming iPhone 5 will eschew the glass back casing of the iPhone 4 for aluminum back casing.
At least that's the word from Macotakara, which Macrumors picked up. "Decision to design similar to iPod touch instead of using glass is supposed that Apple seems to stop problems which are told widely damages from scratching, difficulties of painting white and weight of glass," reads the Chinese-to-English translation.
The iPhone 5 is also reported to sport the new A5 processor that Apple recently unveiled in its forthcoming iPad 2. If Apple follows its usual release schedule, the new iPhone should be announced this summer.
