Porsche Panamera S Hybrid
Porsche's latest hybrid will start at $95,000

Porsche is starting to boost fuel efficiency on its larger vehicles through the use of hybrid technology. Porsche already offers a hybrid version of its Cayenne crossover SUV, and now it is extending that technology to its newest production model: the Panamera S Hybrid.

The Panamera S Hybrid makes use of a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces a healthy 333hp. In addition, a 47hp electric motor is mounted between the gasoline engine and the transmission (8-speed Tiptronic) to provide additional power. Unlike some of the newer hybrids being introduced today that feature more powerful and lighter lithium-ion batteries, the Panamera S Hybrid still uses NiMH technology.

Even with a combined 380hp on tap, Porsche says that the Panamera S Hybrid achieves 34.6 mpg on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). The large sedan can also scoot to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and features a top speed of 167 mph. The Panamera S Hybrid can reach 50 mph on battery power alone -- just don't expect to go very far, the battery-only range is a scant one mile. 

The Panamera S Hybrid will be made available later this year in the United States at an estimated base price of $95,000. For comparison, the base Panamera S lists for $74,400.

Car like that MIGHT even compete with the CTS-V for "fastest sedan" bragging rights. Of course they'd still need to shave 20K off the price.

the panamera turbo is considerably faster than the CTS-V.

Did not know about that sedan, but I would not say "considerably". From C&D.

Top speed/0-60/skidpad
Caddy 191/4.3/.93
Porsche 193/3.3/.92

Found it odd that the caddy had a better skid pad as Porsche usually excels there. So yes you are technically correct. Odd that there are no Nürburgring lap times for it on wiki. The 911 turbo is only 3 hundredth faster than the caddy so I would not call it officially "track" faster until more objective testing were done. Plus add in the fact that I can by 2 caddy's and a truck for the weekend for the price of the Porsche :)

With the right tires and a decent amount of balance, a minivan can pull great skidpad numbers. No one has a patent on physics. Besides low .9g is not all that fantastic but plenty for 4000 lb sedans.
