1 GB of data for $30 per month
Sprint is taking a step into Apple territory with the impending launch of the ZTE Peel, a case for the iPod Touch that allows the device to connect to the mobile carrier's 3G data services.
received a screenshot from a tipster that confirms the new accessory. Here's what we can decipher: The Peel will launch on November 14, and will run $79.99 (no contract required). Monthly service from Sprint runs $29.99 (again, no contract required) and includes 1 GB of data, with overages running 5 cents per megabyte.
The Peel case supports second- and third-generation iPod Touches; it can support up to two devices via WiFi. It will not work properly in Sprint's roaming coverage.
is speculating the possibility of the Peel being delayed, considering it doesn't support the
fourth-generation iPod Touch
. Time will tell.

Only 2nd/3rd Gens supported?

How does this work? Does it provide the connection through the dock connector? I would seriously consider this for my 1st-gen Touch if the only problem is that it wouldn't quite fit right. I don't see why I couldn't use it with wi-fi.

The device probably provides a wifi hotspot which you can connect to just like any other. That's how the MiFi works in the UK, which by the way is £10 (US$16) for 1GB, or £15 (US$25) for 3GB, so US$30 for 1GB seems rather steep.
