 Firefox 4 RC won't hit until 2011
New beta releases will continue
Firefox is one of the most popular browsers out there and Mozilla is always working on new features and upgrades for the browser. Fans of Firefox may have already tried out one of the beta versions of Firefox 4 that have been posted for users to try out while waiting for the final version of the new browser to land next month.
Bad news has come from Mozilla with Mike Beltzner posting to the Mozilla.dev.planning group on Google Groups that the browser RC was being delayed until early 2011. However, new beta milestones will be released through December as bugs in the browser are fixed by the developers.
Beltzner points out that development is constant on Firefox 4 and progress is being made daily. The final launch date of Firefox 4 will come after the RC lands in early 2011. Beltzner wrote, "The frequent beta releases have been extremely helpful in identifying compatibility issues with existing web content, so we plan on continuing to release beta milestones through the end of December. Our estimate is now that release candidate builds will ship in early 2011, with a final release date close behind. Please note that, as always, this schedule is subject to change based on feedback from users and community members."
