Another full-QWERTY Android device joins the Droid 2

Boy Genius Report has gotten their hands on a bevy of pictures of an upcoming Android-powered HTC world phone for Verizon, which was hinted at in Verizon's roadmap leaks last month.

The new device, model number ADR6325, sports a full QWERTY keyboard, Android 2.2, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, microSD slot, and a SIM card slot for world roaming. The pictures also show a Microsoft Bing app directly on the home screen. Like most HTC Android devices, it will run the custom Sense UI, unlike the manufacturer's upcoming Windows Phone 7 devices.

According to a Phandroid tipster, the device could be the HTC "Merge", which began appearing in Verizon inventories back in August. The folks over at Engadget believe it to be the CDMA equivalent of the T-Mobile G2

No other specs or a possible release date are known. BGR has the full gallery here.

...a real keyboard on the device - means it actually will be effective and usable for texting and email.

The one thing that bugs me about that style of keyboard, though, is the merging of the numbers with the top row of letters - such that you have to push a fn button to get a number. Really inconvenient.

Cell phone makers had keyboards really figured out a few years ago - the original enV by LG had the best keyboard ever. But for some reason they've been going backward ever since...

The HTC Touch Pro 2 had a great keyboard, IMO the best. Shame they haven't straight lifted it onto their other keyboarded phones.

Yes the Touch Pro 2 had the best kb in the smart phone world. Too bad it ran WinMo6. I still play with my old one.

Too bad it ran WinMo6.

You know you can solve that, right?

It's not 100%, but many users may not care about the currently missing features (and they will likely have support eventually).
