When it comes to Android-based
smartphones, the HTC
EVO 4G has pretty much been the cream of the crop (that is until
the Motorola
Droid X came on the scene to share the spotlight). The phone
features a fast 1GHz processor, large 4.3” display, front- and
rear-facing cameras, and of course 4G access courtesy of Sprint's
WiMAX network.
Tomorrow, however, the EVO 4G is set to
get even better thanks to an Android 2.2 update according
to Engadget. The update will be available tomorrow to
customers that initiate the update via the phone's software update
feature. The update will be pushed automatically to other EVO 4G
customers starting the week of August 1.
In addition to the updates provided
with Android
2.2 (Froyo), HTC also has included some new goodies of its own
like the ability to use the LED flash as a flashlight and improved
720p video recording
