OCZ unveils PCI-E RevoDrive

With Computex in full swing there is lots of cool new gear being seen for the first time at the show. Among the companies showing off new wares is OCZ with the unveiling of a new SSD that is different from the SSDs that we are used to seeing from OCZ.

The new SandForce-based RevoDrive and is a bootable PCI-Express SSD that is designed for high-performance workstations and gaming PCs. The new SSD has a 540MB/s read speed, 530MB/s write speed and is capable of 75,000 IOPS. OCZ states that the drive is also good for video editing and multi-media creation. The company isn’t specific on how much storage the RevoDrive offers.

OCZ is also showing off a new 1.8-inch Vertex 2 and Onyx II SSD for mobile devices. The small SSDs use the SATA 3Gb/s and support the Windows 7 TRIM feature. These small drives are aimed at ultrathin notebooks, netbooks, nettops, and tablets.

No pricing or availability information on the new SSDs is offered.
