The Droid Incredible will launch later this month

We've been talking about the HTC Incredible for quite some time now, but it appears that the long wait is about to end. The Android junkies over at Phandroid have uncovered a staging site for the HTC Incredible, which is now known as the Droid Incredible.

The site allows you to enter your email address and receive more information on the phone and its availability. The site also notes that the phone is coming April 29.

The Droid Incredible will pack quite a punch when it launches later this month. The smartphone will feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8GB of internal storage (plus a microSD slot for extra storage), an 8MP camera, 3.7-inch AMOLED display (480x800) and will of course come preloaded with Android 2.1.

HTC, the maker of the Droid Incredible, is reportedly in the running to purchase Palm. An acquisition of Palm would give HTC the rights to webOS which could make for some truly powerful smartphones in the future – HTC's hardware prowess and the innovative webOS software platform would be an extremely tough adversary for Apple's headline-grabbing iPhone.

South Western Ky here, about the same. Though Verizon is getting a few more towers near the lakes and close to the TN border. Sprint is finally here, it used to be very hit or miss, and even Bluegrass which has most of the state stopped just short of where I live. ( I used to have Bluegrass and loved it, then moved just outside their area )Cingular was the only option for years here. Now with AT&T taking over the quality is dropping somewhat, but still better than the other options :(

Back in 2000, while driving from Atlanta through to Cincinnati, both my sister (on AT&T) and I (on Sprint) completely lost coverage (even roaming) while transiting from northern TN to southern KY. Very hilly country, I swear they would have had to have a cell tower every 1/2 mile in order to keep a signal from being blocked!

Too bad satellite telephone service hasn't come down much in price. Might be the simplest solution for you guys! ;)
