Right, I stand corrected: if you can save 25% or more of the price of the netbook by using much cheaper alternatives, more than adeguate for the task, no wonder many people pick that choice.

I'm surprised only 30% realize that. It is not fanboy stuff, it is simple economics.

I am no fan of Microsoft, but from all indications OEM licenses for netbooks are under $10. Obviously, without the threat of linux this wouldn't be the case.

If thats the case then why do they sell the ubuntu version for $40 less? I guess goodwill by dell?
