$1499 CAD for the $2300 USD 30" display

Dell Canada has announced another 12-days of deals, which Dell has now become famous for. Among the deals available is yet again the 3007WFP, Dell's mammoth 30" LCD. The deal requires a coupon code, which is available here and time is limited. The 3007WFP is going for $1499 CAD, and available to Canadians only. Start making those Canuck friends again!

I bought a 3007WFP the last time Dell had this sale (for slightly more money), and I can vouch for the display's performance. Maybe now I can go dual 3007WFP!

The price difference is because Dell cant sell as many in Canada because Canadians don't have as much money to spend as Americans do.

Also, the taxes are so high that the only way to drum up sales is to drop their margin or they wont sell very well.

They'll sell in the USA to people at the price Dell is asking because taxes are lower, and people have more expendable income to boot.

Dell could sell this at $1,300USD but they'd go like wildire. Why drop the price to that level when they know they can get the current price out of them?

Its us Canadians that can't buy at full retail, and also are more reluctant to do so due to the higher taxes on top of that.

Americans just need to wait it out, stop buying the 30inch and it will drop in price in the USA as well.

Taxes are so high?
Maybe if you live in Atlantic Canada...
The rest of us have learnt to live with it, taxes are not that bad and never influence what I want to buy. If I want a new monitor I don't decide not to buy because there will be taxes. Man I can't buy that monitor, there'll be a 7% tax on it!

Atlantic Canada has the same 8% PST +7% GST = 15% taxes as Ontario and only 1% higher than most other provinces. Certainly not "high" in relation to the rest of Canada.
