A clip from the video  (Source: Youtube)
A "complete" list of all things caused by global warming.

A new video making the rounds on the internet aims to educate viewers on the media hysteria surrounding global warming. Nothing more than a collation of various news clips accompanied by a peppy sound track, it lists some of the many events which have been attributed to climate change: everything from cannibalism and kidney stones, to earthquakes and prostitute shortages in Eastern Europe.

The nine and a half-minute video, which can be seen on YouTube, is entitled "Global Warming Causes More Sex". Also blamed on global warming were events such as rises in mental illness, brain eating amoebas, decreases in racial and sexual equality, increased numbers of plane crashes, invasions of vampire moths and killer jellyfish, and the possible explosion of the planet itself. And, of course: more sex. For everything from seals to human beings.

Some claims were highly specific -- one story attributed the 1993 "Black Hawk Down" helicopter crash in Somalia to climate change. Another blamed it for the birth of a three-headed frog. Even the absence of the Loch Ness Monster was chalked up to climate change.

While the clip is light hearted, it is not a spoof -- all the claims originally appeared in media sources such as the BBC, the Times U.K, CNN, MSNBC, and others.

Many of the claims are contradictory, such as stories claiming both colder and warmer winters, ones predicting more plant growth versus ones claiming less, larger coral reefs versus smaller ones, saltier oceans versus declines in salinity, and even a pair of stories, one claiming future wines will be stronger, the other weaker-- all courtesy of man's greenhouse gas emissions. In classic Ponzi-scheme style, no matter what happens, at least half the predictions will be correct.

The video was created by Robert Wagner, a financial analyst and optometrist from Ohio. Wagner says he created the video to tell "the story the media is failing to deliver". The material is drawn from the website, "A Complete List of Things Caused by Global Warming", created by Dr. John Brignell, Emeritus Engineering Professor at the University of Southampton, U.K. According to the site's mission statement, its goal is to combat "the scares, scams, junk, panics, and flummery cooked up by the media, politicians, bureaucrats, so-called scientists and others who try to confuse you".

Wagner, who says he is entirely self-funded, plans more videos on the subject.

You guys don't have any power in this matter. You don't have anything to offer and you're going to lose.

This isn't the force here buddy.

And we have cheaper, better products to offer. All global warming scares do is drive the price of things up. Electricity, food, manufacturing, etc.

You're one of the biggest idiots I've seen here.

Don't get me wrong, I love Star Trek, but that type of world will likely never exist. Why? Because people strive to excel. But they do it not only notoriety but the rewards. And in a socialist system, there are no rewards for hard work.

And the government can't pay for it. The government can't pay for the socialist welfare programs we have now. Medicare, Welfare and Social Security have TRILLIONS in unfunded liabilities. You think adding TRILLIONS more yet are going to fix things? Especially considering Obama will likely increase the number of Americans who don't pay taxes. There's only so many rich people to steal money from. And they'll leave long before you rob them blind.

The United States has one of the highest standards of living in the world. Socialist countries have lower standards of living than us. They're also less competitive. Why? Because of higher taxes. That's why businesses liked America. Because they could do business here and not be taxed to death. Now that that's changing businesses are leaving. So how do you think it makes us more competitive?

And there is nothing patriotic about doing well in school so you can go to college, get a good job, and then support those who coasted through school because they decided it was better to look cool than study. Stop listening to the BS Biden spews.

Well, we don't have to tax businesses more, we'll just tax the people more. A junk food tax, a porn tax, legalize drugs and tax them. We'll all be rich.

You know for a smart person, I can't believe you are letting Reader1 push your buttons like that. They are obviously being tounge and cheek about this. Even those of us on the left don't want "socialism." Not until you get to the far fringes, and then there are just as many on the far fringes of the right who are just as insane.

Not to mention your argument about taxes isn't completely correct. Countries who have both very high taxes and non-existent taxes suffer. If you don't have the money to build the road and maintain it, it's going to be hard to ship out all those products that companies are making. The goal is to find a happy medium between right and left. I was with you until you started on the political bashing. This poster is obviously just trying (and succeeding) to get a rise out of you.
