Punch-Out franchise to return as well

Nintendo held a major press conference on Thursday at 1:30PM Tokyo time announcing new products such as the Nintendo DSi. As Nintendo has chosen to not attend this year’s Tokyo Game Show, several other major announcements were made during this press conference. One of those announcements was the ability to play games from SD memory cards. Nintendo also announced a new lineup of games as well.

As the event was a Japanese press only conference, Kotaku translated a live blog of the event from Famitsu where Nintendo's Satoru Iwata announced the fix for the Nintendo Wii's inability to play games from external memory storage. According to Iwata, Nintendo is going to make it possible to download games onto SD cards starting in Spring 2009. "We have to address the console's insufficient memory storage," said Iwata. This fix will apply only to WiiWare and Virtual Console games.

In addition to the Wii storage announcement, a number of new Wii games were announced at the press conference. The revival of the NES classic Punch-Out franchise was announced along with Another Code, Sin and Punishment 2, and Sangoku Musou 3 (Dynasty Warriors). It was also announced that Gamecube games will be re-released for the Nintendo Wii starting with Pikmin. The service will be called "Wii de Asobu Selection" (Play on Wii Selection).

Nintendo also plans to ship a short 3 minute movie called “Wii de Dekiru Koto” (What You Can Do With The Wii). The movie will show users how to easily connect to the internet. By no coincidence, Nintendo also announced it is putting special Wi-Fi adaptors for sale on the market.

Rockstar's Ping Pong is trash. But they make up for it with other good games. Nintendo Game Cube was junk, the N64 was so so, the Wii is lame. Three strikes against them, they aren't winning me back till they put out a powerful system with tons of great games like the good old days. Always wanted a Bionic Commando remake, and what happens? Their cruddy console can't run it, so it doesn't go to them. Assassins Creed was shoddy on the console as well, where have you been? Gears of War was fine on the PC, again, where have you been, or what junk computer are you running it on? Every review I have ever seen for Gears was glowing, and they said it was better than the console version. Same was said about the Mass Effect port.

Reaching for straws buddy, reaching for straws. Nice twist though, so close to making the Wii "THE BEST CONSOLE EVER" through downplaying games that do well, and a BS casual game a developer made. You are so funny without trying, seriously, get into comedy, you could start a new trend of Wii comedy. OH MAN! They could make it into a game. See, I could develop for the Wii.

Summary of what you just said:
1) Rockstar's Ping Pong is trash, but they make up for it by putting out other good stuff.
2) Nintendo's Wii Fit is trash, but they don't make up for it because not only do they put out good stuff, they also put out 3 lame consoles. Therefore they only put out trash.

While I'm attempting to process the complete mind**** you just gave me to comprehend, you seem to be ignoring (or even worse, unaware of) massive amounts of user complaints about many 360 to PC ports (especially Gears of War) on poor performance on good hardware, game crashes, poor controls, awful UI, etc. Good luck defending yourself, you'll need it.

Why do people feel the need to bash others over the head in order to validate their own personal entertainment preference?

The first decent answer will get a cookie.

Why do you keep posting this crap? If anything you look more like a PS3/Xbox/PC raid fan than neotheone, although he may just be as guilty except your post contains more useless drivel than his.

So I'll end it here:

Gzuss666 like PS3/Xbox/PC games and Neotheone likes Wii games.

That's funny because my Wii is gathering dust as well. I've just been having way too much fun with my PS3 and PC.

There are a few OK titles on the Wii but nothing that GRABS you and makes you lose sleep etc. (like any great game should) such as Mercenaries 2, Fallout 3, or MGS4...

Wii is good for parties and retirement homes. That's about it.
