32GB OCZ Core SATA II SSD $99 after Rebate
SSDs dip below $100

It's been quite some time since DailyTech has posted a Daily Hot Deals post, but this particular deal is simply too mind-blowing to pass over. Newegg currently has the recently released 32GB OCZ Core Series SATA II SSD for $159 -- MWAVE also lists the drive for the same price. There is also a $60 manufacturer's rebate which drops the price down to $99 -- this is a new low for high-speed solid state drives.

The 32GB Core Series SSD has write speeds of 83MB/sec and read speeds of 120MB/sec.

There have been some concerns raised about the performance issues of OCZ's MLC-based Core Series SSDs in recent tests, but the sub-$100 price tag may just be low enough to get some users to at least give the burgeoning technology a try.

Its not an OCZ problem. Its a Jmicron controller problem. Super Talent, and other companies utilizing the exact same Jmicron controller have the same problem.

Of course it is an OCZ problem (although it does effect other manufacturers). Either they tested their product and decided the issues were not worth re-design or they did not test their products. They did not have to go with a Jmicron controller, it was a design decision to do so. A bad design decision.

What the hell?

OCZ is selling a product. Its THEIR responsibility to test their product. THEY DIDNT. They just went with the flow and got burned and now they are trying to burn consumers by selling it cheap to people that dont know about this to ease their pain, and youre defending them? Get a grip! This kind of buisness tactic SUCKS.
