Grand Theft Auto IV is the top story on all accounts, even for Jack Thompson

GTA IV on PS3 vs. Xbox 360
For those fortunate enough to own both consoles, the question burning on many minds is which version to buy. Surely the hardcore fan already owns his or her copy of the game, but those waiting for a definitive answer on which version is superior likely won’t find the decision easy to make. Comparison videos show that both versions appear almost identical, while other hands on give slight edge to the PlayStation 3 version. Perhaps the best answer is to just buy whichever one your friends have so that you can play online with them.

GTA IV Xbox 360 DLC This Summer?
One big factor Microsoft was counting on was that gamers would choose an Xbox 360 over a PlayStation 3 because its platform’s version of GTA IV would come with the promise of exclusive DLC. That downloads may arrive sooner than expected. According to comments made by GTA’s infamous radio show host Lazlo, the Xbox 360 could see the DLC as soon as this summer, while also adding that the PS3 might receive something of its own too.

GTA IV Freezing on Some Consoles
While the majority of gamers who have picked up Grand Theft Auto IV are reporting nothing but an exceptional gaming experience, not all is perfect. Some are reporting the game is freezing during early cutscenes, where the game’s visuals will refuse to advance while the audio continues. Rockstar support acknowledged this problem, which apparently affects both PS3 and Xbox 360 version, but is more common on 60GB PS3 consoles. Rockstar has yet to officially address this issue.

Jack Thompson Owns Grand Theft Auto IV
It’s unknown if it’s in his possession solely for the purpose of spreading misinformation about the game, but he’s got his hands on a copy of GTA IV.

Duke Nukem Forever Seen by Outside Eyes
Even though it’s still the butt of many vapourware jokes, 3DRealms assures everyone that Duke Nuken Forever is still a real product in development. To help prove this, the developer invited Shacknews to view actual gameplay of DNF running on actual computer hardware, showing gameplay scenarios, mechanics, and environments. “We actually got to see...environmental puzzles and interactivity, a host of finished weapons, the existence of an in-game forklift, and plenty of heads and arms being blown off,” wrote Shacknews owner Steve “sCary” Gibson. “We both confidently agree that after seeing this demonstration, Duke Nukem Forever is looking great, and will easily stand apart from the crowd in both visual and gameplay styles.”

Converter Allows PS2 Guitars on PS3
The whole business of guitar incompatibility for Rock Band on PlayStation 3 is a difficult point for gamers. Thankfully, accessory maker The Ant Commandos has released a converter which will allow PS2 Guitar Hero guitars to work correctly on the PlayStation 3, be it on Guitar Hero III or Rock Band. The handy accessory retails for $19.99.

Disclaimer: I own both platforms.

The Kotaku review actually never said the PS3 version was better. The author only recommended it because he likes the PS3 controller better and because of the "performance edge," which, since he admitted the game was nearly identical on both platforms (from his description I would actually choose the 360 version, regardless of the exclusive DLC), is simply preferential to his personal taste and fanboyish on the latter fact.

Come on...citing this article as someone saying the PS3 version was slightly better is bullocks.

To be fair, IGN also has a head to head, side by side comparison with video and they also said the PS3 version showed more fluidity, less stutters and pop ups. But at the end they also said the difference is so small that it'll only be noticeable in a side by side comparison. Both versions are good.

Your contridicting yourself. First your saying that the article states the game is nearly identical, and that choosing the PS3 version over the 360 version is bullocks, yet you try to justify that the 360 version is better based on this same information?

He never said it was better, he said he would choose it.

You do have to choose one, you know...

anyways why buy a console that has the potential to RROD on ya and send it back 17 times like I have. My Brother in law has had 10 red rings of death too. Hmm I am trading my xbox 360 in for ps3 and i will buy the GTA4 for it. I dont care of the little video and audio glitches, because it is happening on both platforms so i have seen. Ps3 does have better rendering, I have seen both side by side. You could notice a little more color and life with the ps3 while the xbox 360 version looked a little chartoony like San andreous did.

the reason for the DLC for xbox 360 is that GTA 4 is too big for the 360 and the PS3 can handle more information do to it having blu-ray. Sorry to say HD is dead the future lies in Blu-Ray.
