Hark! Another year at DailyTech flies by
For those of you who think in binary, today marks the end of year 10 and the beginning of year 11.
For those of you who think in ASCII code, then you could claim
now celebrates year 33.
For those who think in a more sane number system, then today denotes the age of
as the first Mersenne prime, the first lucky prime, the first unique prime, the first and fourth Perrin number and the fourth Fibonacci number.
Someone once suggested we celebrate
's Pi-th birthday on February 20, 2008. Clever, but the number three is my favorite so it holds a special place in my todo list.
And why isn't three awesome? Genies grant three wishes. Earth is the third planet in the solar system. The Universe has three spacial dimensions.
Coincidence? I think not.
Over one short year,
doubled its page views since December 2006, which was already a ten-fold increase from the AnandTech channel the year before. 2007 was a great year to us, with props from
New York Times, NPR, USA Today
, the U.S. Senate's EPW Committee, the thousands of bloggers and hundreds of tech news sites out there that link to us Daily.
I'd also like to offer a special thanks to the Google News team for their incredible work in changing how the masses read and acquire news.
Of course, who could forget our incredible reader base either. We weren't just lucky enough to see a two-fold increase in traffic, but our reader comments and account registrations have increased four-fold since December 2006.
Thanks for visiting and, as always, feel free to send comments, suggestions and death threats to

Well, I admit we ripped it from Slashdot. I think that the fact my competitors added it after we did speaks more so for the robustness of the format.
I think its inevitable that almost all news formats will include large-scale feedback mechanisms :)

I agree with you on that. Of course I'm a fan of DT, and I find the comments that readers post at least as interesting as the articles themselves. The site's readers collectively have a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a spectrum of opinions that could never be expressed by just the site authors themselves.
