Facebook takes Dr. Phil's recommendation and gets cozy with is working hard to connect its network of over 15 million users with social networking giant, which boasts 58 million active users.  Facebook is looking to put one foot in front of the other, and avoid mistakes after alienating its users by installing adware on their computers and posting their purchases online.

Fortunately, Facebook's approach with seems less nosy and more cozy. with Facebook's help will implement a feature called "Little Black Book", which links Facebook profiles to daters.  Both companies are working to make this service unobtrusive, but helpful.  Users must sign up for the service.  After signing up, the service allows them to search profiles of Facebook users and non-Facebook users who want to date someone.  It will also send daily profiles to the user.

Another feature being implemented is called "Match My Friends".  This feature allows a Facebook user's friends and family to create a profile of the person, to help let other prospective dates know more about them.  The feature is only usable if the Facebook user who the profile is about gives consent.

Always an online dating industry stalwart, has received many glowing recommendations and is even endorsed by Dr. Phil, of talk show infamy.   The web firm is Dallas based and is part of Barry Diller's New York based InterActiveCorp conglomerate, which also owns Evite, and Citysearch.

The company hopes that its partnership with the fast growing Facebook will help its business reach even more users. general manager Craig Wax thinks that the move will help push users to test the online dating waters, stating, "There are a lot of people out there who are interested in online dating and just need that extra push, if you will."

The partnership between and Facebook is perhaps the most significant move for the the social network since its recent establishment of a partnership with Microsoft.  Facebook continues to have some hiccups, but continues to show exemplary growth and move along in its goal of social network domination.

Aren't most of the people on like 35+ yrs old? Are they trying to implement a new dating scheme by hooking up 45yr old men with 19yr old college girls?

Both these sites are stupid and prove that people have no lives. But this joint venture is just ridiculous.

Have you SEEN the people on I bet they look like mutants.

Well its 14M men and only 1M women, for one thing.

But its not as unbalanced as it sounds-- most of the women weigh 14X as much to compensate.

Those are some crazy numbers. I remember free online dating, and I know the numbers but when I searched online it was crazy easy. Almost too easy. And it was even easier to skip the uglos. Not going to bother to look for it, but i thought match had more women then men. Most probably are not very good looking but it I think thoses numbers are way off.

I don't know if the 14:1 figure is correct or not, but its trivially easy to implement a "random" browse that outputs any sex ratio desired, whatever the true ratio of men to women is. I think its a safe bet that and all other online dating sites are overwhelmingly populated by men.

Just do a search. It's about 3:2 if and ABC are to be believed.

Heh heh... I'm on and I have a life. I happen to be a traveling consultant, so Match makes it easier to meet women if I'm in another state, or another country. I'm 29 and I've dated women as young as 20 and as old as 36.

And as for the women... All of the women I dated were hot, but plenty on Match are not. The last woman I dated was an actress in "American Gangster" and several Broadway plays. Body of a goddess and the voice of an angel. Unfortunately, she was just like most of the other women on Match: temperamental, inflexible and looking for the "perfect" man.

Victoria's Secret models? Why would I want to go out with a woman who needs to wear a padded bra and eats water? lol

But in answer to your comment: I live in NYC. There are a LOT of women out here who look good (not as good as Miami or LA, but I can't complain) and most of them are on Match. With a mix of actresses, dancers, and models you can bet they look good. And nowadays the doctors, lawyers and librarians are looking good! They couldn't make it in entertainment. ;-)
